I am not sure if it's the best Korean food in Singapore but to me definitely it's the most comfy and authentic one...

Backlog - 14/4/10

Korean Garden, a restaurant we visited more than a decade back when Kpop and drama didn't even exist in Singapore. I must say we were very ahead then, thank god for linking us up with a sweet all singaporean korean - Phoebe.

Phoebe, Joyce and I been besties since secondary school, I am the third party among them because Joyce and Phoebe know each other longer...since primary school.

Anyway, Phoebe's mum own this cute korean restaurant just off Tanjong Pagar since our secondary school time and we always love to visit for a nice homely korean dinner.

Our forever love
anchovies'  marinated in sticky sweet malt and green chili (my own name for the banchan served before dinner)

Tonight, Mrs Choi invited us over to her restaurant for dinner, I guess to thank us for helping phoebe's to look at her wedding venue in Singapore because Phoebe is far far away in NYC now

Tonight is great too, like a couple night's out we deserve...

Ken & Joyce

Ken & Hui , no...they are not a pair.

ooooo...our side dishes

Oh, that's me and Hui and his own way of showing how good the dish is.

Now Ken's turn to show his appreciation...

Us, just like before...

Favourite Korean Dish

Chicken Bulgogi, we also have the pork one...Yum yum!

Small black pot is my favourite stew - Doenjang jjigae aka beanpaste soup
Bigger pot is - Samgyetang aka Ginseng Chicken Soup

Seafood Pancake
Another top favourite - Bimbibap

Mrs Choi's Korean Restaurant usually cater to Korean tourists and also with very good food reviews from newspapers and online, please call them +65 6221 7153 to check/book your table to avoid disappointment.

~GONG XI FA CAI~

9th Feb 2005:We celebrate our Chinese Lunar New Year.
Its 15 days of goodies, gambling & gathering, for me its more of dressing up.
Months b4 CNY, I have been cracking my brain on how to
dress up for myself, Hui and our home.
Got a couple of good buys for Hui but have overspent on mine, cos maternity dress are bloody expensive.
Hope it really looks good for what I paid for.

Visited my granny, and everyone was surprised with my
pregnancy coz I was already in my 7mths.
Chit-chat with my cousin, Michelle on my pregnancy. We
only meet once a year and many sometime twice.
She told me its easy to tell I m expecting a bb gal coz I look good and radiant to her. Heehee! so flattered!
Nevertheless, have a nice talk with her as usual.
Just a few hiccups questions from my another cousin, Hilyn with we are more distant.

10th Feb 2005:Meet up with Daryl, Jean and Huiling for Mac breakfast.
Got a call from Joyce, telling me her waterbag burst and was on her way to the hospital.
I was overwhelmed and excited for her.
Choi called me to ask how is Joyce coz she can't get her,
and I told her she might be in labor now.
We chit-chat awhile and I told her to try calling Joycetomolo.
Hui exchanged a few calls with Ken, finding out Joyce's situation, and we were told we can expect her bb in about evening.
I can't hide my excitement the whole day when I m at my mum's place.
At about 8plus, we heard from Ken again.
BB Russell is born and weighin 2.8kg plus, both mother and son fine.

11th Feb 2005:Went to pray @ Jurong, Da Bo Gong Temple with Lynn.
This year, ppl born in the year of rabbit "cheong" with Tai Sui.
Joyce called me and told me bits of her birth story.
She said she haven got strength to push that's why need touse vaccum to assist delivery.
Maybe due to no food intake for abt 8 hours since
admitting.
She took epidural coz contraction was really pain and bad. After hearing that, I guess I will be opting for that 75%.

After praying, we went home and prepared for our friend's
arrival.
First guests : Daryl and Jean. Then Ericia & Reese.
This years seem abit boring coz Gerard can't come to our house as her granny just passed away.
After everyone came, we play cards and not bad for this year, I been winning abit.
About late noon, Carnegie & Kyrene came. They are rare guests and really thank them for coming.
Kyrene looks good in her made to measure dress, she actually altered the design to wat she wan.
Its a shame! I din get her to take a photo.

Dun angry ok, take it as a "donation" for my baby's diaper fund.
We met Gerard for dinner and then let him followed us home coz he is like so poor thing.
I never been so lucky on mahjong table, I won $100plus that nite.

The More We Get Together, Together, Together!!!

Lazy Saturday! Aimless & Restless!

Wait Hui to buy brunch back for me, then I went to pack my cupboard.

Dug out some of new bags mostly magazine freebies, some clothes
that are too small for me. I decided to donate it to Salvation Army.

Wanted to take a nap with Hui, but I can't get to sleep.

Got sms from Ericia and know she is back from her biz trip.

Decided to meet them for dinner tonight.

I kinda disturbed Hui's nap

and he wasn't very happy so decided to get up.

Lookin like a giant bee @ 20weeks

I ask him to bring me to Mothercare sales and see

if I can get a good buy for my swimsuit

After walking a few round in Parkway,

our piggy get better of us and we decided to snack b4 dinner
since it will be 3 hrs later.

Happy to have food

We went to Orange Julius Al fresco,

got ourselves fruit drinks, hotdog & nachos. But our piggy
wanted more, so Hui bought 2 fishballs, sotong and 1 curry puff.

We shared the food so we won't get too full.

Fetch Gerard from his
church@ 7pm then go fetch Sammy. Sammy just came back from UK trip too and was
telling us her experience.

Feel so envious!!

Sammy and Ericia, can travel overseas for biz trip.

Happy to hear their experiences.

We had 5 dishes for dinner @ Bottle Tree Restaurant

Sammy bought us Christmas presents, its beautiful.

Bill time, Ericia insist to
pay coz she found a new job.

Another embarrassing moment for us, coz I thot just dutch lor.

Dun wan her to pay coz she oso just found a job.

We then decided to go to
Bishan to see if there is midnite shopping,

Ericia bought me a sweet top from there.

Pai sei man!!! Really feel bad the whole nite!

Anyway really thankful for the treats and presents.

Didn't have much to see so
we decided to retire and find those guys @ coffee bean then go home.

ENGLISH PIE

Monday never fail to be blue.

Today totally no appetite for food,

sms Hui and ask if he will be free to bring me for
snack after his marathon meeting.

He said okay! I waited till 2pm and start to get really tired

and felt he is not gonna make it.

Told all my buddies online that I will go
sleep if Hui never come back by 230-245pm.

Just as I was about mms him an ugly
pix of me hinting him that I m "dying" of boredom,

I hear his voice outside. I am surprised!!

We went to Big Ben's Place @ Siglap.

Its a little cafe serving English pies.

Hui & me not pie eater but find it not bad for snack.

Our favourite pie is chicken and mushroom,

its like cream of mushroom soup wrapped in crispy crust.

Pie eater like Gerard seem to prefer steak & Guinness

(not sure if spelling right).

There are oso fruit pie like apple, strawberry etc. Pam went with us and
had Apple pie. Big Ben also served some western food.

I shared Fish and Chips with Pam and

Hui had lamb leg (well! he can't get enuf of me, hee hee!!)

We enjoyed the quiet ambience of the surrounding, an ideal place

to sit around and chit chat with frens.
